Stay In for Earth hour weekend

Started in 2007, Earth Hour has become one of the most recognizable movements for the environment. Held every year on the last Saturday of March engaging millions of people in more than 180 countries, by inspiring them to switch off their lights to show support for the planet. Beyond the symbolic action of switching off – it has become a catalyst for positive environmental impact – welcoming everyone to take part.

STAYING IN FOR EARTH HOUR WEEKEND?

Aliter Networks hopes to amplify the mission to unite all of us to protect the planet and hope you are staying in for the Earth Hour weekend. With the ongoing pandemic, it would be sensible to participate in Earth hour virtually this year for public health and safety. However just because you are staying at home, doesn’t mean you can’t have a memorable “stay-home -Earth hour”. Here’s a list of top 5 things you can do for the hour, contributing to the earth hour and having fun doing it.

1. SWITCH OFF YOUR LIGHTS
The DNA of the Earth hour and the easiest way to participate; simply switch off all non-essential lights for an hour.

2. CANDLE DINNER
Get candles ready and whip up healthy meal for a healthier planet and a healthier you.

3. WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR FUTURE SELF.
With any awareness campaign, the intent has been to hold people accountable. Jump on the wagon by putting all of sustainability goals into a letter for your future self. A fun way to remind yourself to be accountable for your actions and doing your part for the planet.

4. SILENT DISCO
